The Uber Global Hackathon (UGH) is the world’s first virtual global hackathon for high school students aged 13–18. Through regional and international events, aspiring developers, programmers, and designers collaborate to solve real-world challenges through technology, innovation, coding, product design, and data analysis.

Following Uber’s branding guidelines, we developed a holistic visual identity system for the brand, including a suite of marketing collateral, to create a consistent and engaging brand experience across all touchpoints.

The challenges

The main challenge was creating a branding system that aligned with Uber’s clean and structured identity while still feeling dynamic and engaging for a younger audience.

The Solutions

To better connect with the younger, tech-driven audience, the branding introduced animated patterns and graphics inspired by Uber’s minimalist design language. Combined with energetic graphics and dynamic layouts, the visual system was designed to feel innovative, collaborative, and consistent across all campaign touchpoints.
